After a long week of busy work and school hours and meeting deadlines, our bodies tend to overheat, and so it's important to use the weekend to reset, reenergise and "cool off."
Since this week for me is all about celebration, I decided to share not just one, but two cooling recipes that help me celebrate with friends, and at the same time, help signal our bodies to take a breather and reset for the week ahead.
Check out this other cooling treat (new recipe) this week: A frozen Chocolate Beet Layered Cheesecake.
These days, I rarely drink alcohol, and so this mocktail it's a perfect celebratory drink for me that's refreshingly delicoius. Inspired by the Ginger Lime Mocktail recipes from Elana's Pantry and Dr. Frank Lipman's Daily Dose Blog, this recipe instead uses honey, which makes a great pairing to lime.
Both lime and honey are great anti-oxidant ingredients that increase our body's natural ability to heal. They complement each other due to the ability of citric acid in limes to enhance the flavor and health benefits of honey, and honey's ability to preserve the beneficial enzymes of lime.
